Passion fruits have a tough, dark purple skin and bright yellow pulp filled with many black seeds. Its jiggly flesh has a sweet, tart, citrusy taste with hints of pineapple and kiwi. The entire interior is edible though its spongy white pith is a bit bitter. The seeds are tart and crunchy.

You can enjoy the pulp straight from the shell--all you need is a spoon! The pulp can be juiced or simmered into a coulis, puree, or jam that can be added to sauces, salads, baked goods, and yogurt.
